Terms of Service

Definitions

"Service" means the AcroPassport website and services. "User", "you" and "your" mean anyone using the Service. "Content" means any text, images, media or other material uploaded or posted by users.

1. Accounts and registration

To use certain features you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for safeguarding your credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

1a. Eligibility — 18 and over

AcroPassport is for adults aged 18 and over. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older. We enforce this at the form, server, and database level — younger acrobats should ask a teacher or guardian to bring them in directly so that adult takes responsibility for the account.

2. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service for unlawful activity, harassment, spam, hate speech, or to upload malware. Do not impersonate others or attempt to access accounts that are not yours. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

3. User content and moderation

You retain ownership of Content you post. By posting Content you grant AcroPassport a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute that Content as part of the Service. We may remove or restrict access to Content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.

To report abusive or infringing Content, contact support via the in-app reporting tools or email hello@acropassport.com. We will investigate and may remove Content where appropriate.

4. Intellectual property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content) are owned by AcroPassport or its licensors. You agree not to reproduce or use our trademarks, logos or copyrighted materials without permission.

5. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (for example Supabase for auth and storage, Resend for transactional email, and external APIs such as Photon for location autocomplete). Use of these services is subject to their terms and our Privacy Policy.

6. Announcements & site notices

We may display time-limited announcements (maintenance, product updates, safety notices). Announcements are managed via the platform and may be stored in an `announcements` table. The announcement system respects per-user dismissals: authenticated dismissals are recorded server-side; anonymous dismissals are stored in a cookie.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, illegal activity, or for other reasons where necessary to protect the Service or other users. Account termination may remove access to stored Content; data handling after termination is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as-is". We exclude certain warranties and limit liability where permitted. This section will be finalised with legal review.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes should be raised to hello@acropassport.com in the first instance so we can attempt informal resolution before formal proceedings.

10. Affiliate links

Some links on AcroPassport — most visibly on /resources — are affiliate links. If you click through and sign up or purchase, AcroPassport may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked with an aff indicator next to the title. Commissions help fund this independent, ad-free passion project. They never influence what we recommend: links are added on merit and removed if a provider stops meeting our standards.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. Material changes will be notified via announcements or email where appropriate. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
