Jam
Short for "AcroJam" and stemming from the concept of a musical "jamboree", a "jam" is an informal, social meetup to play and practice.
Jams are unstructured events - sometimes hosted by Jambassadors - that are at the heart of the pratice of acro. A jam is different to an Open Training session as it is not focused on skill acquisition and is far more focused on play and community aspects. Jams may often include games, group activities and are more relaxed than classes, workshops and practice sessions.
Often, jams are preceded by or linked to a class - particularly for beginners - as this allows teachers to impart safety principles and provide an intial set of shared skills that newer practitioners can practice.
Please note, jams are not classes and while attendees are always willing to share skills, spot and support each other, a jam is not a formal learning environment - if you're looking to learn, please take classes/workshops.
It is also good jam etiquette to respect the time of Teachers who attend, and not ask them for free teaching during their own play/practice time.
